This looks like a worthwhile re-release of a recipe book, if you are really into cooking: the Grand Livre De Cuisine (Big Cookbook, sounds so much worse in Anglais, une langue sans roman :-p ) by Alain Ducasse. The original was something like 150 pounds, but this version is printed on A4 (thats the only difference I believe) and can be had for 26 quid.

My only question is ... can it compete with my much loved Larousse Gastronomique ..... but I think I might wander over to Waterstones and take a look at lunch time ....

I've had many cook books over the years but still go back to my old (pages falling out now) copy of Delia Smith from 1978 and an old dairy diary round up from unigate from 1985.

I see the Delia book is worth more now than it was then on e-bay !

Funny how we stick to our favourites isn't it? I have a shelf full of cook books but the only one in reach of the cooker is Larousse. I even have the other classics like the Silver Spoon .... but I seldom look at them.
